For over 90 years, Sterkowski has been a family-owned company, with the third and fourth generations dedicated to the craft of cap and hat making. As children, we often spent time in the workshop after school, helping our parents with production or simply being around. The clatter of sewing machines, the scent of materials, and the heat and steam of the presses have become a natural part of our environment. We work for our brand name, and we do it with passion.

Sterkowski does not mass-produce its products. Many of our caps and hats are sewn in small batches or made to order. We are constantly learning, seeking new inspirations, and improving our methods, but we remain faithful to the traditional techniques that have served us well for the past 90 years. We are, and intend to remain, a workshop – it is our way.

When it comes to materials, we are very selective. Headwear should offer above-average comfort, provide ergonomics, and be head-friendly. That's why we choose to use high-quality materials such as pure wool, cotton, natural linen, Harris Tweed, and genuine leather. The best hat is the one you forget you're wearing, as if it were a natural extension of your head.

To measure your head size, use a soft tape measure and wrap it around your head, just above your ears and eyebrows, where your hat would normally sit. If your head size falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size. If you prefer a looser fit, adjust the tape measure accordingly.

Our caps and other Breton/biker/fisherman models have stiff brims, which requires careful size selection to ensure comfortable wearing that matches your preferences. If you prefer a snug fit, choose your exact head size (e.g., 59 cm). If you'd like a slightly looser fit, go one size up (e.g., 60 cm for a 59 cm head). We're happy to exchange your purchase if you happen to miss your size.

Each of our products features a wool cloth crown, a natural leather sweatband, and a breathable viscose lining, with brass buttons and embroidered tape on the crown and bill. This combination of high-quality materials and traditional craftsmanship ensures a comfortable, durable, and stylish headpiece that will become a part of your everyday wardrobe.
